The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday decided to open Sector D-15 for the people of low-income group and low salaried class.

The CDA Board during its meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Kamran Lashari approved the opening of Sector D-15 where small size plots of three and five marlas would be allotted to the low-income group.

Director Urban Planning and Director Housing Societies Muhammad Sarwar Sindhu tabled a summary before the board meeting, which was okayed by the board members with directions to start acquisition of land for the sector.

The meeting was informed that the land revenue record was being obtained from Islamabad administration following which acquisition process would start.

The meeting also approved another summary of Planning Wing to allow a bus-stand on I J Principal Road. The bus-stand would be allowed on private land over an area of three kanals and the authority would charge Rs1,000 per square yard as charges from owner of the land for granting permission of bus-stand.

The CDA board on recommendation of Allotment Scrutiny Committee, approved allotment of plots to 17 affected people of different sectors in Sector I-14.

The meeting, however, referred a summary to Senate Standing Committee regarding allotment of land for residential colony for Islamabad Police employees in Sector I-16.

CDA Chairman Kamran Lashari expressed his reservations on creating new plots for nurseries in Sector H-9. He said he was not in favour of new nurseries in the area but if it was so required, it should be done through a transparent process of auction.

The meeting also approved new recruitments in Katchi Abadi Cell of Directorate of Urban Planning to expedite process of upgradation of regularised slums.

In order to remove lacunas in CDA Service Regulations 1992, the concerned officials were directed to prepare a working paper for CDA board, which would be considered in the next meeting.
