NATIONAL HIGHWAY AUTHORITY PLAYING VITAL ROLE TO STABILIZE ECONOMY

WELFARE SCHEMES FOR NHA EMPLOYEES TO CONTINUE.

2475 KANAL LAND ACQUIRED FOR NHA HOUSING SCHEME.

Chairman National Highway Authority Major General Farrukh Javed has said that welfare schemes for the employees of National Highway Authority will be continued. Due to excellence performance, the image of NHA is being enhanced day by day. He was addressing the ground breaking ceremony of NHA Employees Housing Scheme, under the auspices of National Highway Foundation, near Sihala here today. The senior officers and a large number of NHA staff participated in the function.

On this occasion, General Farrukh Javed said, betterment and welfare of the NHA employees is among our priorities and such beneficial schemes will continue. He said, currently, approximately 2475 kanals of contiguous land in Zone-V, Islamabad has been owned that is being developed as the Jinnah Town Project. It is expected that this Housing Scheme will be completed in two years. Presently, he said, there are 2000 members of the National Highway Foundation. He said, our endeavour is to realize this Housing Scheme at the earliest. He commended the services of the personnel engaged to make this scheme a success. He asked the members of the Housing Scheme to ensure payment of installments in time, so that it could be completed as per schedule. He hoped that we would remain successful in making it a Housing Society. He further said, due to remarkable performance, a positive change is being felt among the masses towards NHA. He said, President of
Pakistan General Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Shaukat Aziz and people of Pakistan are expecting a lot from NHA with regard to development of road network in the country. He said, we are striving to realize the highway projects in transparent manner. He said, Makran Coastal Hgiwhay Project, Pindi Bhattian – Faisalabad Motorway Project (M-3), Kohat Tunnel Projects stand among significant projects which have been completed before the scheduled time frame, which is the proof of our improved performance.

Now, NHA, has become a Service Provider department and its role in development of national economy is very important. In order to eliminate the sense of deprivation, General Farrukh Javed said, highways are being built as per same specification in various parts of the country. He informed, besides depositing Rs. 25 million in President’s Relief Fund for earthquake victims, the NHA also sent 115 trucks and 36 wagons loaded with relief goods to the quake hit areas. He said, NHA is also building a School in Muzaffarabad, which after completion, will be handed over to Govt. of AJK.

He stressed upon the need of Self Accountability and supremacy of Truth. On launching of Housing Scheme, General Farrukh Javed congratulated the NHA employees.
