Islamabad Residential sectors

Islamabad is divided into several different sectors, each identified by a letter of the English alphabet and a number, with each sector covering an area of approximately 2km x 2km. Each sector is further divided into 4 sub-sectors

Islamabad main residential sectors have been placed in rows on both sides of the central commercial area known as the Blue Area. On one side are the F sectors and on the other the G sectors. Each sector is further subdivided into smaller residential neighbourhoods. Each sector comes equipped with a main civic centre known as a markaz, which has offices, shops, post offices, police stations etc. F-6 has Supermarket as its main civic centre, F-7 has Jinnah market, F-8, Ayub market, G-6 has Melody market and G-7 Sitara market. The sectors are further sub-divided into sub-sectors, numbered 1-4 from the bottom left clockwise. A double parallel road, usually named, divides sectors and sub-sectors.
