Defence Housing Authority, Islamabad

HISTORY Since its inception DHA Islamabad has endeavoured to achieve, under the guidance of its Chief, President General Pervez Musharraf, the goal of providing a platform for welfare and rehabilitation of defence services personnel and dependents of the Nation's martyrs while providing a high standard abode to the dwellers of the twin cities of Rawalpindi Islamabad. To exploit the inherent potential for the expansion of DHA Islamabad and to make its functioning smoother, rapid and at par with DHA Islamabad Karachi and Lahore, necessity was felt to convert it into Authority through legislation. Defence Houing Islamabad was thus converted to Defence Housing Authority Islamabad on 22 nd Feb, 2005.

DHA Islamabad is delighted to announce, building sized plots at our latest development site in overseas sector on Islamabad highway. Overseas sector is located a 20 minutes drive from the zero point and is only 12 miles south of Islamabad. An excellent road network and major rail links are only a few minutes away and make it easy to travel to just about anywhere in Pakistan.
Since 22nd Feb,2005 , Defence Housing Islamabad has become an authority. This welfare scheme has been contributing a lot in housing sector at national level. Besides it is a project which encompasses the interest of every category all over Pakistan and overseas also

Islamabad and Rawalpindi have a significant shortage of housing. "The Economic Survey of Pakistan" identifies the need for 500,000 new houses to be built each year until 2020. This plan identifies the need for a major chunk of housing units in Rawalpindi Islamabad area owing to its fastest growing population.
